25 | Licensing Program Analyst, Joelle Redding, met with Director for the purpose of an unannounced random annual inspection. There were no children present at today's visit. Program operates Monday thru Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
LPA toured the room. The furniture, books, games and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. The room was a comfortable temperature during this visit. No hazards were noted. All storage containers and trashes have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. Morning snack is provided and children bring their own lunches. Food is stored per regulation. Snack menus are posted. Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary and in operating condition.Any medications are kept in an upper cabinet, inaccessible to children. Poisons, disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other items that are dangerous to children have been made inaccessible. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. Outdoor play area is fully fenced with sufficient cushioning and shade. No hazards were noted. Portable water is used. The carbon monoxide detector is operational. LPA reviewed, sign in/out sheets. There have been no staff changes since the last annual visit. A sample of children's records were reviewed for emergency information and a medical assessment. All staff present with current CPR and First Aid certification. Isolation area is a quiet area of the classroom away from the other children. SB 792 (staff immunizations) and AB 1207 (Mandated Reporter Training) requirements have been met. Facility is reminded the Mandated Reporter Training is to be retaken every two years and can be accessed at the following website: www.mandatedreporterca.com. Isolation area is the Director's office. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
