25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Jennifer Lott and Tyra Block conducted an unannounced Annual Licensing inspection. LPAs were greeted at the front door by Assistant Director, Leslie Okeefe and granted entry after identifying themselves and disclosing the purpose of their visit. The facility currently has 47 children in care with 10 staff. Licensee provided a copy of their current roster and is operating within the licensed ratio and capacity. An overall inspection of the facility was conducted inside and out. The inspection included, but was not limited to:
Physical Plant: The facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors, smoke detector and fire extinguisher that meet statutory requirements . Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous are locked and inaccessible to children. Assistant Director Okeefe advised there are no weapons or ammunition being stored or on the premises meeting Title 22 regulations. There are no bodies of water on the premises. The last disaster fire drill was performed on 07/15/2022. Outdoor play area is fenced and free of hazardous items. There are separate play areas for school age children and other children in the center. The areas around or under climbing equipment, swings and slides are cushioned with sand to absorb a fall. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp/pointed parts. All toilets, hand washing, bathing facilities and flooring are clean and in sanitary condition. All kitchen, food prep and storage areas are kept clean, free of rubbish, insects and other vermin. Menus are posted one (1) week in advance in a place visible by the child’s representative. All containers used for solid waste have tight fitting covers that are secured and in good repair. Uncontaminated drinking water is readily available indoors and out.
Records Review: There is a separate, complete and current record maintained for each child enrolled at the center. Children’s records contained emergency contact information and immunization records. |
