25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samantha Salunga visited the facility to conduct an annual random inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director, Valerie York and proceeded to tour the facility. Also present were a total of 64 children in the following classrooms:
- Room 1- 17 children with Beatriz Romo, Rita Orton, Elham Birko and Odalys Gonzalez
- Room 2- 17 children with Taniya Patros, Taghrid Kahj and Nicole Gamio
- Room 3 & Room 4 (playing outside)- 30 children with Shirley Wilson, Nicole Sanchez, Erin Walcott and Josefina Aguirre
Appropriate ratios and capacity were observed. Furniture and equipment inside and outside of facility is in good condition; free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Drinking water is readily accessible at all times. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children via latches, locks and/or placed up on high surfaces. No body of water was observed during time of inspection. No firearms or weapons are present at the facility. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in good repair and sanitary. Kitchen/food preparation area is observed clean and free of litter, mold, rodents and other vermin. All storage containers for solid waste have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Outdoor play area is fully fenced and contains sufficient amount of cushioning with rubber matting to absorb a fall. Sign in/sign out sheets are well maintained. Menus are posted. All required documents are posted. Children’s files were reviewed for medical assessment. Present staff (during inspection) records were reviewed and contained documentation of educational background, training, and/or experience. There is at least one staff member on site at all times that is current in CPR/First Aid. Immunization records per SB792 and Mandated Reporter Training Certificates per AB1207 was reviewed and in compliance.
