On 10/14/20 at 11:01 a.m. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Leilani Curtis conducted an unannounced case management inspection via Zoom in reference to the Director's request for a change in capacity. Upon arrival LPA met with Assistant Director Michelle Wolcott and proceeded to tour the facility. There were 21 children present with 6 staff members. Appropriate ratios were observed. Staff members have the required background clearances and are associated to the facility.
The facility is currently licensed for 50 Infants/Toddlers in Infant room 1, Infant room 2, Toddler Room 1, Toddler Room 2, Toddler Room 3 and Toddler Room 4. The Director has requested a decrease of capacity from having 50 Toddler/Infants to 34 children in rooms Infant 1, Infant 2, Toddler 1 and Toddler 2 only. The facility is requesting to move the preschool program into the Toddler 3 and Toddler 4 rooms. A fire clearance was granted on 9/30/20.
The rooms were previously measured and total square footage for all classrooms combined is 1,216.84 sq. ft. and will accommodate 34 children. Age-appropriate furniture and equipment were observed in each of the classrooms. Rooms were observed to be safe and free of hazards. The facility has 10 sinks and 4 toilets which is enough to accommodate the requested capacity. The outdoor play area was previously measured to be 2,951 sq. ft. which will also accommodate the requested capacity.
A license with a capacity of 34 children may be issued upon final file review.
An exit interview was conducted and appeal rights (LIC 9058 1/16) were discussed with Director Leone Power. A copy of this report as well as a copy of the appeal rights were emailed to the Director at the conclusion of the inspection. The Director will confirm receipt of this report via e-mail and the reply of confirmation will serve as the signature acknowledging these rights. LIC 9213 NOTICE OF SITE VISIT FORM IS REQUIRED TO BE POSTED FOR 30 DAYS. |
