On 3/29/22 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Michael Morales-DeSilvestore visited the facility for the purpose to conduct an annual random inspection. Upon arrival LPA met with Interim Director Michelle Wolcott and proceeded to tour the facility. Also present were a total of 52 children with 6 staff members.

Appropriate ratios and capacity were observed. Furniture and age appropriate equipment is in good condition indoors and outdoors. Children's toilets and hand washing facilities are sanitary. Rooms are safe and clean. Food preparation area is clean, food and beverages are stored in covered containers at 45 degrees F or less if required. Drinking water is readily accessible inside and outside the classroom. All disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children through latches and locks. Storage area for poisons is locked. Outdoor play area is fenced with adequate material for cushioning. Area has canopies and trees used for shade. There are no bodies of water or weapons at this facility. No excluded individuals are present. Fire drills are being conducted every 6 months. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector at the facility. First Aid/CPR reviewed and in compliance. Sign in/sign out sheets are well maintained. Admission Agreement forms reviewed for some children. Staff records contain documentation of education, training, and/or experience. Menus are posted. LPA reviewed the following with Michelle Wolcott: IMS, reporting requirements, Car seat Law.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Michelle Wolcott and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Michelle Wolcott of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Director Michelle Wolcott was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
