On 10/14/20 at 11:31 a.m. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Leilani Curtis conducted an unannounced case management inspection via Zoom in reference to the Licensee’s request for a change in capacity. Upon arrival LPA met with Assistant Director Michelle Wolcott and proceeded to tour the facility. There were 70 children present with 8 staff members. Appropriate ratios were observed. Staff members have the required background clearances and are associated to the facility.
The facility is currently licensed for 81 preschoolers. The Director has requested an increase of capacity from 81 preschoolers to 97 preschoolers. The facility will use the following rooms for the preschool program: Twos (room #1), Twos (room #2,) Three’s (room #3), Three’s (room #4), Four’s (room #5), Five’s (room #6) and School Age (room #7). A fire clearance was granted on 9/30/20.
The rooms were previously measured and total square footage for all preschool classrooms combined is 4,065.07sq. ft. which will accommodate 116 children. Age-appropriate furniture and equipment were observed in each of the classrooms. Rooms were observed to be safe and free of hazards. The facility has enough sinks and toilets to to accommodate the requested capacity. The play area was previously measured to be 13,466 sq. ft. which will accommodate the requested capacity.
A license with a capacity of 97 children (including up to 12 School Age children) may be issued upon final file review.
An exit interview was conducted and appeal rights (LIC 9058 1/16) were discussed with Director Leone Power. A copy of this report as well as a copy of the appeal rights were emailed to the Director at the conclusion of the inspection. The Director will confirm receipt of this report via e-mail and the reply of confirmation will serve as the signature acknowledging these rights. LIC 9213 NOTICE OF SITE VISIT FORM IS REQUIRED TO BE POSTED FOR 30 DAYS. |
