Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Marie Hernandez conducted the Annual/Random Inspection. LPA met with Facility Director, Yvette Jackson. LPA was given access to inspect the facility. The Director accompanied LPA on the tour of the facility. During today's visit, there are forty two children with seven teachers (staff) in the classrooms. LPA inspected the classrooms for compliance. The appropriate ratios and capacity were observed during the visit. Appropriate care & visual supervision were also observed during the visit while children were playing. The following were observed during today’s visit: There are no bodies of water and/or no fire arms/weapons on the premises. All children are supervised including visual observation, of a teacher during the visit. There is a ratio of one teacher supervising no more than 12 children in attendance during the visit. The facility is operating within the conditions, limitations and capacity specified on the license during the visit. The disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other dangerous items are inaccessible to children during the visit. The storage areas for poisons are locked during the visit. All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free during the visit. The furniture and supplies are age appropriate and are in good condition. The rooms have adequate lighting, and ventilation during the visit. The floors are found to be clean and safe during the visit. The drinking water is readily accessible, inside and outside during the visit. The restrooms are maintained with operational toilets and faucets with appropriate temperature during the visit. Hand soap, paper towels and toilet paper are available during the visit. The restroom is lighted and ventilated during the visit. The food service area consists of a kitchen which is clean and free of hazards during the visit. The menu is posted. There is an adequate supply of food items available for snacks and meals during the visit. The facility has maintained the fire/disaster drills; the last drill was conducted on 04/12/2019.

The outdoor high climbing play structure with slide has sufficient cushioning material to support a child's fall. The cleaning supplies are kept separate from food. All foods/beverages capable of rapid spoiling are stored in covered containers. The facility appears to be free of insects and rodents during the visit. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector during the visit. The smoke detectors are hardwired. The facility has maintained the fire extinguisher. There is adequate shaded rest area for children during the visit. The toys are age appropriate during the visit. The grounds are free of debris or potential hazards during the visit. Personnel records contain documentation of education and at least one staff member has current CPR and First Aid certification during the visit. The sign-in/out sheets were reviewed. The children’s records contain the admission agreements during the visit. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions during the visit. Staff records and children’s records were reviewed during today’s visit. LPA verified the staff's immunization records and their AB 1207 Mandated Child Abuse Reporting certification. The Lead Exposure handout was discussed and provided.

No deficiency was cited today. An exit interview was conducted and a copy of the report, and the Notice of Site Visit was provided to the Director. LPA observed the Director post the Notice of Site Visit in a prominent place. The Director states it is understood that this notice must be posted for 30 days.
