25 | On 08/11/21 at 9:40 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), JoAnn Legaspi and Rajani Goudreau conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection. Upon arrival, LPAs met with Principal/Director, Elizabeth Castillo-Duval and disclosed the inspection’s purpose. The Director provided LPAs with facility entry. LPAs proceeded to tour the facility indoors and outdoors. The facility is requesting to replace classrooms 53 and 54 with classrooms 15 and 17, to serve children ages 2 years to 5 years. There were no children in care during the inspection because the school was on summer break, but the program will resume on 08/30/2021. The facility operates weekdays from 8 AM to 2 PM on the campus of Central Elementary School, during the traditional school year. This facility is a Title 5 Program.
The following classrooms were inspected and measured during the inspection:
Classroom #15 measured a total of 890.37 square feet.
Classroom #17 measured a total of 888.15 square feet.
The indoor space measured a total of 1,778.52 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate 50 children at one time. However, facility is only requesting a capacity of 48 children. The classrooms are equipped with appropriate furniture and napping mats including tables, chairs, cubbies, bookshelves, and other materials for the children to utilize. A carbon monoxide detector is located in both rooms 15 and 17. The facility also has first aid kits that maintains required supplies. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other hazardous substances were observed out of children’s access during this inspection. Required postings are posted in the classrooms. Children will utilize a shared girls’ restroom with the elementary school children. See LIC809-C continuation page... |
