25 | Case Management conducted by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Selina Siao for the purpose of capacity increase to 60. Upon arrival, LPA Siao met with Site Supervisor Elizabeth Ferrusca and conducted a census count of the children in care. 5 children were at the playground with staff members Blanca Valdez and Bertha Perez. Staff members have the required background clearances and are associated to the facility. Site Supervisor stated that the children are in care Monday to Friday from 7-5:30pm.
This facility is currently licensed for 45 children in classrooms 1 and 2. Licensee representative submitted a capacity increase application to add classroom 3 and additional restroom for children.
Room 3 was inspected and measured at 732.88 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate up to 20 children. The room is equipped with age appropriate equipment, furniture, supplies and materials. There is a bathroom located next to classroom 3 with 2 sinks and 2 toilets available for children. Water dispenser or water pitcher will be placed in the classroom and be available for children.
Children are to be escorted and supervised by staff to and from the restrooms. Direct visual observation is required when children are in care. The facility has a total of 5 sinks and 5 toilets available for children.
The playground was previously measured at 4652 square feet, which is sufficient for 62 children.
Facility appears to be in substantial compliance, the fire clearance of 60 children was granted on 11/19/2019. Capacity increase is granted effective today. Notice of site visit was posted during today's inspection. |
