On 10/12/21 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Michael Morales-DeSilvestore and Licensing Program Managers Tashima Daniel & Monica Cuddy visited the facility for the purpose to conduct an annual random inspection. Upon arrival LPA met with Director Sharla Rocha and proceeded to tour the facility. Also present were a total of 46 children in the 5 classrooms with 9 staff members. Appropriate ratios and capacity were observed.

Furniture and age appropriate equipment is in good condition indoors and outdoors. Children's toilets and hand washing facilities are sanitary. Rooms are safe and clean. Food preparation area is clean, food and beverages are stored in covered containers at 45 degrees F or less if required, and storage containers for solid waste are covered. Drinking water is readily accessible inside the classroom. All disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children through latches and locks. Storage area for poisons is locked. Outdoor play area is fenced with adequate material for cushioning. Area has canopies used for shade. There are no bodies of water or weapons at this facility. No excluded individuals are present. Last fire drill was conducted 2/23/21 and facility will need to conduct one within the next 30 days. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector at the facility. First Aid/CPR was reviewed and in compliance. Sign in/sign out sheets are well maintained. Children's files were reviewed and found to be in order. Staff records contain documentation of education, training, and/or experience. One staff members records were missing proof of required immunization's. Menus are posted. LPA reviewed the following with Sharla Rocha: IMS, reporting requirements, Car seat Law.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with director and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed the director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Facility will need to submit updated IMS form to the department within 30 days.
