25 | On 7/22/20 at 10:10 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Keturah Lane, conducted an announced Case Management Tele-Inspection visit regarding a day care parent who tested positive for COVID-19. Due to COVID-19, a tele-inspection was conducted using Zoom to tour the facility. Director Sandra George was present at the tele-inspection. Census at time of report was 28 children. Director stated that she contacted the Dept of Health and spoke with Lupe (619)-692-8499. Instructions from SD Epidemiology were to have the child quarantine for 14 days at home. Quarantine start date for the child is 7/17/20. It was not recommended to have the child tested. Director stated the mother would give her updated information regarding what the physician said at the child’s appointment and will let the Director know if child develops any symptoms during quarantine period.
Director stated that the father was last at the facility on 7/15/20 and informed the facility of the positive test result on 7/20/20. The child was last in care on 7/17/20 and was dropped off and picked up by the mother. The child attends Ms. Desiree’s class which had a stable group of 5 children on 7/17/20. Census for the entire facility on 7/17/20 was 29 children.
Director had the facility deeply sanitized in addition to current procedures. Director notified all the families and advised staff members to monitor themselves during the next 14 days for symptoms. LPA Lane will continue to follow up with Director George on the facility's situation. LPA advised Director to submit a LIC624 and copy of child roster within 7 days.
An exit interview was conducted with the Director. Appeal Rights were discussed and provided. Facility was advised to post the Notice of Site Visit for 30 days. A copy of the report will be e-mailed to the facility and director was advised that acknowledgement of the receipt of the report is to be received within twenty-four hours. |
