25 | On 6/23/21 at 10:30 a.m., Licensing Program Analysts, Joelle Redding and Annette Sutherland, met with Director Freda Simmons for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. There were 39 children present with 7 teachers in 4 rooms. Facility is within ratio and capacity. Program operates Monday thru Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
LPA toured the facility. The furniture, books, games and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. Rooms were a comfortable temperature during this visit. No hazards were noted. All storage containers and trashes have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. There is a kitchen (church) which is clean and sanitary with all food stored properly, per regulation. Menus are posted. Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary and operating condition. Medications are kept in a safe place, inaccessible to children. Poisons disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other items that are dangerous to children have been made inaccessible. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. Outdoor play areas are fully fenced with sufficient cushioning and adequate shade. Playground equipment and outdoor surfaces are in a safe condition. The toddler option portion shares the infant playground. A formal waiver will be request as the program was in place prior to this requirement. Portable water is used. There are no bodies of water, firearms or ammunition on the property. The carbon monoxide detectors are operational. LPA reviewed, sign in/out sheets (electronic), a sample of personnel records for a health screening and on-the-job training. A sample of children's records for emergency information and a medical assessment. Children are evaluated upon entry and monitored throughout the day for signs of illness. The isolation for ill children awaiting pick up is a quiet area of the classroom or the Director's office. There is at least one staff present with current CPR and First Aid certification conducted via Zoom in March. LPA will review to see if this meets regulation. SB 792 (staff immunizations) and AB 1207 (Mandated Reporter Training) requirements have been met. Facility is reminded the Mandated Reporter Training is to be retaken every two years and can be accessed at the following website: www.mandatedreporterca.com. |
