25 | On 07/13/22, at 12:35 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Rajani Goudreau conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection and met with assistant, Erica Valladares. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility. At time of inspection, there were eight children in care; including one infant and seven preschool age children. This facility is a one story, four-bedroom and two-bathroom home. The following areas are used for childcare: living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom located in hallway of home, bedroom #1, partial of front and side yard. The following off-limit areas are made securely inaccessible: master bedroom, master bathroom, bedroom #2, partial side of front yard and backyard of home. Operation hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements, per LPA observation. LPA observed hazardous items inaccessible to children in care. LPA informed assistant poisons shall be placed in a storage area and locked. LPA observed toys, play equipment and materials available for the children’s use. Children utilize partial of the gated front yard and side yard for outdoor play. LPA informed assistant children shall be supervised during outdoor activities. LPA did not observe any bodies of water on the premises during the inspection. In addition, assistant confirmed there are no bodies of water on the premises of the property. Assistant stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse
clearances or exemptions. Assistant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
