25 | On 1/13/2022 at 10:20 a.m. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Leilani Curtis conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection and met with Licensee Linda Lima. LPA provided the LIC 126, Entrance Checklist to Licensee. There were 2 children in care, none of whom are infants. The licensee states that the facility was closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic from 03/2020-11/2021. The facility was observed operating within ratio and capacity. LPA conducted a tour of the home inside and outside per facility sketch. Licensee is using the following areas for daycare: living room, dining room, family room, kitchen, bedroom #1 (master bedroom), hall bathroom and enclosed rear yard. Off-limits areas include: bedroom #2, bedroom #3, master bathroom and garage.
Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Home is clean, orderly and has adequate ventilation. Children’s toys and play equipment are available and observed free of hazards. There are no stairs in the home. There is a working telephone/email address. Cleaning compounds were observed accessible to children in a kitchen cabinet. Fireplace is screened. The fire extinguisher and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are operational. Licensee states there are NO firearms or other weapons in the home. The outdoor play area is fenced and free of hazardous items. There are no existing bodies of water present. Children records were reviewed for Emergency Information. There are no new adults living or working in the home over the age of 18 years. All adult residents and helpers have submitted or been cleared for criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Pediatric CPR and First-Aid certificates have expired. Licensee has completed the Mandated Child Abuse Reporting-per AB1207. LPA reviewed certification and it is in compliance. Immunization requirements were discussed with Licensee. Licensee understands that anyone who provides care and supervision to the children must have immunization records maintained at the facility for: pertussis, measles, and influenza. Licensee does not maintain immunization records on site for herself and states that she does not know if she has been immunized against measles. |
