25 | On 7/25/2023 at 2:45 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Joelle Redding, made an unannounced visit for the purpose of an Annual Inspection. During this visit, there were 9 children in care with Licensee, Assistant Susie, her 14 year old daughter and Assistant Tania M. The facility is within ratio and capacity.
LPA toured the home. Primary child care areas are the child care room with attached bathroom and kitchen and the fully fenced backyard and the facility sketch on file is accurate. LPA provided an LIC 610A for Licensee to update Section #5 with shut off location sites. Off limits areas have been made inaccessible with the use of locked doors and safety gates. There are no weapons stored in the home or on the property. There is a water feature enclosed by a 5+ foot mesh fence with an operational self-latching gate. The fireplace is in the main house and has been secured. The fire extinguisher is full and of adequate size and located just outside the sliding door to the child care room. The smoke alarm (located on the ceiling of the child care room) and carbon monoxide detector (located in the child care room kitchen) are operational. Emergency drills are being conducted and logged at least every six months and there is a written Disaster Plan on file. Last drill was conducted on 6/12/23. The home is clean, orderly with adequate ventilation and heating. Licensee has provided enough space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. LIcensee provides all food. It is of good quality, proper quantity and stored safely, per regulation. The furniture, to include napping materials and children’s toys, books and activities are safe and age appropriate and in good repair. Licensee has checked for recalled items. There is a working telephone and all required forms are posted. Outdoor play space is fully fenced with age appropriate play equipment and activities in good repair. No hazards were noted. Licensee understands there is no smoking in or around day care areas.
Children’s files were reviewed and found to be complete. . Verification that school age children present are enrolled/attending elementary or above was on file. The facility roster was current and complete and is being stored for 3 years. Licensee's and Susie's pediatric CPR/FA certificate was done on 3/22/22, online, with a |
