1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25	On June 13^th, 2024, at 9:05 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jo Ann Legaspi conducted an unannounced Required 3 Year Inspection and met with the Licensee Catalina Basantes. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted facility entry by the Licensee. The licensee, a helper and five (5) children were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is five (5) bedrooms, two (2) bathroom house. Licensee and helper accompanied LPA during this inspection. The following areas used for childcare are: main daycare room and 1 bathroom. The off-limit areas are the remainder of the house. The connective door to the remainder of the house has a child safety cover on its doorknob, making those areas inaccessible to children. The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were observed inaccessible to children during this inspection. The Licensee has available toys, play equipment and materials. Licensee states children are taken to a nearby park or the front yard for outdoor activities. Licensee was reminded that continuous supervision is to be given to children whenever engaged in outdoor activities. No bodies of water were observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home First Aid and CPR certifications for the licensee and the helper both expire in April 2026. Licensee and helper have required immunizations. The licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training certificate is expired. The facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 05/13/2024. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed

Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

On this date, 06/10/2024, the California Attorney General - Megan’s Law website was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California's Megan's Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility address. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public disclosure; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ. During the exit interview, the Licensee Catalina Basantes, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. LPA provided Licensee with Provider Information Notice (PIN) 20-24-CCP, a blank LIC 9227 “Individual Infant Sleeping Plan” form and two (2) examples of safe sleep logs.

LPA reviewed with licensee the LIC 311D, Forms/Records to Keep In Your Family Child Care Homes, children’s forms/records, facility forms/records, and information to be posted. Entrance Checklist was provided to the licensee. LPA reminded Licensee of the following: Report suspected child abuse and neglect, maintain children’s records according to regulation, post all required forms, and ensure that all adults residing or working in the home have criminal background clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers and/or similar equipment are not allowed in daycare.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information

Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platforms. No deficiencies observed. A notice of site visit was given to licensee and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee Catalina Basantes.
