25 | On September 30, 2022 at 01:00 PM., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Edgar Campana conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensee, Julia Becerra. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Five (5) daycare children were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a two story, four bedroom, 3 bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas are to be used for childcare: the entire first floor, with the exception of the laundry room and garage. The following areas will be off limits: the garage, the laundry room and the entire upstairs. These areas are made inaccessible with door locks, door knob covers and a safety gate.
The fire extinguisher, type 3-A:40-B:C is operational and is located in the kitchen. The smoke detector and carbon monoxide detectors met requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced back patio available for outdoor activities. Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 03/2023. Licensee has required immunizations. Mandated Reporter Training certificate expired on August 2022. Licensee stated that she will provide proof of completion to LPA by early October 2022. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 09/02/22.
LPA provided and discussed the following: Report suspected child abuse and neglect, maintain children’s records according to regulation, post all required forms, and ensure that all adults residing or working in the home have criminal background clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers and/or similar equipment are not allowed in daycare. |
