25 | On June 24, 2022, at 10:15 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Luigi Gargaro, conducted an unannounced annual required inspection and met with the licensee, Elizabeth Solis. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee assistant. Five (5) children and two (2) staff, including the licensee and cleared and associated helper, Natalia Tagle, were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a one floor, three bedroom, two bathroom home. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: the kitchen, the dining area, the living room, the back enclosed porch which houses the day care play area and the day care bathroom. Off limits areas are the three home bedrooms with the inclusive master bath and the garage. The bedrooms and home garage entry door are inaccessible through use of door knob covers. There is an entry door to the garage in the back yard but it is locked and the garage cannot be accessed from there.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced front yard and a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities. Licensee is currently adding an addition to her home but none of the work area is accessible to day care children as fence and latching gate have been installed to keep children from the area. Licensee understands that once construction is completed she is to advise Licensing of that fact so that they can conduct an inspection for review and approval of any rooms that may be used for day care prior to their actual use. No bodies of water observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions.
Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on May of 2023 and helper Tagle on November of 2023. Licensee and helper have required immunizations. Licensee completed Mandated Reporter Training on 01/31/21 and her helper on 02/12/22. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. Licensee stated she has been conducting fire and disaster drills but has not been logging them. |
