25 | On 3/3/23 at 10:35am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Patrick Ma conducted an unannounced annual inspection with the Licensee. Upon arrival, LPA met with Licensee Tammara Burns. Also, in the home was husband Kimble Burns. Licensee was provided the Inspection Checklist (LIC 126). The one story home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. Present in the home were 5 children, 1 of whom were under 24 months.
Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Areas used for child care include living/dining room, kitchen, bathroom 2, back patio (converted from family room), and fully fenced back yard. Off limits areas include bedroom 1 (master), bedroom 2, bedroom 3, bathroom 1 (inside of master), and garage. They are made inaccessible to day care children through the use of door knob covers and locks. During visit, Licensee requested front yard be made off limit. Licensee stated, she will begin construction soon to make cosmetic improvements but will keep the area off limits after construction. The licensee has sufficient toys and equipment available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities. Licensee understands that supervision is required at all times during outdoor activities. LPA conducted child care quality management interview with the Licensee.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. There is no body of water on the property. Licensee states that there are no weapons in the home. First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 11/13/23. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee completed Mandated Reporter Training on 5/25/21 and is reminded it must be completed every 2 years. Children’s and Staff records were reviewed and found to be in order. |
