25 | On 5/31/2023, at 10:40 am., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Vicky Williamson conducted an unannounced annual required Inspection and met with the Licensee, Susana Contreras and Co-Licensee Reyna Barroso. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the licensees. There were no children present during this inspection. Licensees' stated that they are currently not providing care to children.
This is 3 - bedroom, 2 bath, single story home was toured and inspected. The following areas are used for childcare: living room, kitchen, hallway bathroom 1, family room, backyard. Off limit areas include: bedroom 1, bedroom 2, bedroom 3, bathroom 2, office (used only to exit to backyard), garage. They are made inaccessible to day care children by door knob covers and safety locks.
The fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detector meet requirements. Hazardous items were made inaccessible to children during the time of inspection. Toys, play equipment and materials are available. Licensees stated that there are no bodies of water on the premises. LPA observed no bodies of water on the premises during the inspection. Licensees stated there are no weapons in the home.
A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensees were reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
First Aid and CPR certifications for licensee and co-licensee is valid and expires on 1/2024. Licensee and co-licensee have the required immunization records on file. Mandated Reporter training for licensee and co-licensee is valid. LPA informed licensees to ensure the mandated reporter training is completed once every two years.
