25 | On May 17th, 2023 at 8:45 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) David Miller conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the licensee, Soul Meraz. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted facility entry by the Licensee. The licensee, licensee's staff, adult daughter (also staff), two infants under 12-months of age and two preschoolers were present during this inspection. This facility is a one (1) story, four (4) bedroom, two (2) bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas are accessible to the day care children: the living room (day care area), the kitchen, the hallway bathroom, and the front yard. The following areas are inaccessible (via safety knobs) to the day care children: 4 bedrooms, one bathroom, the attached garage, and the back yard. Licensee is using her front yard for outdoor activities, it is properly fenced.
The fire extinguisher and smoke/carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Licensee was reminded that continuous supervision is to be given to children whenever engaged in outdoor activities. No bodies of water were observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home and LPA did not observe any firearms at the time of this inspection.
Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 06/06/2023. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee completed the mandated reporter training on 04/06/2022. The facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 05/05/2023.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
