25 | On April 19th, 2023 at 10:45 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) David Miller conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensees; Norma Cubillas and Norma Ruiz. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted facility entry by the Licensee. The licensees, Ruiz's husband, two preschoolers and two infants under 2-years of age were present during the inspection. LPA toured the home, this is a one story 4 bedroom and 2 bathroom home. The primary child care areas are the following: hallway bathroom, the day care room, and the back yard. The Dining Room, kitchen, and Living are accessible to daycare children, but any cleaning supplies and hazardous items have been made inaccessible to daycare children via a safety gate to the entrance of the kitchen, and safety locks on the cabinets. The following areas have been made inaccessible through the use of door knobs or safety gates: three bedrooms, the master bedroom and bathroom, and the attached garage.
The fire extinguisher and smoke/carbon monoxide detector met requirements. The licensee has available toys, play equipment and materials. Children play outside in the fenced backyard Licensee was reminded that continuous supervision is to be given to children whenever engaged in outdoor activities. The licensee does have a hot-tub, which is made inaccessible to children via a locked cover that can hold an adult's weight. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home and LPA did not observe any firearms at the time of this inspection.
Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire in July of 2023. Licensee has required immunizations. The licensee's mandated reporter certificate are up to date as follows: Ruiz 03/22/2025 and Cubillas 12/20/2023. The facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 04/04/2023. |
