25 | On 9/28/22, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Tyra Block conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection with licensee, Angela Medina. Present with licensee was her husband/ assistant and 9 day care children, including 3 infants. The single story home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. The fire extinguisher (2A10BC) and smoke detector/ carbon monoxide detector combo meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. There is a hot tub on the premises that has a cover and was latched during the inspection. Licensee states that there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. First Aid and CPR certifications expire 10/2022. LPA reviewed staff records for required mandated reporter certification and immunizations. Children’s records were also reviewed. The fireplace inside and outdoors was screened and the last fire drill was conducted 6/13/22. Facility roster obtained.
Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Areas used for child care include play room, master bedroom, bedroom, play room bathroom, and living room. Off limits areas include laundry room and hall bathroom near master bedroom, they are inaccessible through use of child safety latch. The licensee has age-appropriate toys and equipment available for children to use. The home also has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities.
