25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Saraliz Velando conducted an unannounced Annual Licensing Inspection. LPA was greeted at the front door by Licensee, Estefanny Correa. LPA was granted entry after identifying herself and disclosing the purpose of her visit. Licensee is using the following areas for daycare: Living room, Dining Room, Kitchen, daycare room, Bedroom 3, Bathroom 1, and fenced back yard. The following areas are off-limits to children: Bedrooms 1 and 2, Bathroom 2, Front yard, and Garage. These areas are inaccessible to children by locked doors and doorknob covers.
The licensee is present in the home and ensures that children in care are supervised at all times. The children are provided a safe, healthful and comfortable environment, furnishings, and equipment. Business Hours are Monday- Friday, 7:00am-5:30pm. The facility currently has 6 children in care.
LPA tested the smoke alarm located in the daycare area and the carbon monoxide alarm located in the kitchen area and are both functional. There is a fire extinguisher that meets regulations in the kitchen area. LPA did not observe any bodies of water on the premises. Licensee stated there are no weapons or ammunition stored on the premises and LPA did not observe any.
There is no fireplace in the home. Storage for poisons, detergents, cleaning solutions, medications are out of reach in off limit areas and inaccessible to children. Licensee provides outdoor play in the backyard with age-appropriate play equipment and toys. Licensee provided a fire/disaster drill log that shows last drill was conducted 2/10/2023. The home is kept clean and orderly with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. The licensee has a crib for each infant in care. Children’s files are available and complete. LPA observed a file for infants that contained a Sleeping Plan and two Sleep Logs. Pediatric CPR and First Aid cards are current and will expire June 2024. Licensee has a Mandated Reporter Training certificate that expires August 2023. Licensee has a current letter of declination for flu shot. There is a working telephone and email address. |
