25 | On June 16th, 2022, at 11:25 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jo Ann Legaspi conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensee Cristina Flores. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted facility entry by the Licensee. The Licensee, her spouse and three (3) daycare children were present. One child was age 4 years, another 1.5 years and third was an infant. This facility is a one (1) bathroom, two (2) bedroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA during this inspection. The following areas used for childcare are: living room, dining room, bathroom and fenced backyard. The off limit area is the lower family room, which is made inaccessible using gates. Kitchen cabinets have cabinet locks.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were observed inaccessible to children during this inspection. The Licensee has available toys, play equipment and materials. Children play in the fenced backyard for outdoor activities. Licensee was reminded that continuous supervision is to be given to children whenever are engaged in outdoor activities. No bodies of water were observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home.
First Aid and CPR certifications for both the Licensee and her helper expire in August 2023. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee states she has not taken the Mandated Reporter Training. The facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 06/02/2022.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home.
