25 | On July 27, 2023 at 02:30 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Edgar Campana conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensee, Diana Mujica. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Seven (7) children were present in the facility during this inspection, as well as one cleared and associated assistant. Licensee accompanied LPA on a tour of the facility. This two story, 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home was inspected. The following areas are used for childcare: living room, family room, half bathroom, dining area, and backyard. Off limits areas include: entire upstairs (4 Bdrm/2 Bath), kitchen and garage. They are made inaccessible to day care children through the use of door locks and a safety gate at the bottom of the stairs.
The fire extinguisher (rated 3A-40 BC) smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detectors met requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. Fireplace was properly screened. Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 05/2025. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee's Mandated Reporter Training certificate expires on 09/18/2025. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted on July 14, 2023.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
