25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Saraliz Velando conducted an unannounced Annual Licensing Inspection. LPA was greeted by licensee, Felipa Gaytan and her two helpers, Miguel Gaytan and Karla Rodriguez Trejo. LPA observed the children playing in the outside play area. LPA was granted entry after identifying herself and disclosing the purpose of the visit. There were 12 children in care.
Licensee has adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Licensee is using the following areas for daycare: living room, dining area, hall bathroom (bathroom #2), bedroom #3 and enclosed rear yard. Off-limits areas include: kitchen, bedroom #1, bedroom #2, bathroom #1 (located in bedroom #2) and garage. There are no weapons stored in the home or on the property and there are no bodies of water present. The fire extinguisher meets regulations and is located in the kitchen area. The smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector combo is functional and located in the beginning of the hallway area. The home is clean, orderly and has adequate ventilation and heating. Storage for poisons, detergents, cleaning solutions, medications are inaccessible by storing out of reach of children. Licensee’s last fire drill was conducted December 2023.
Pediatric CPR and First Aid card for provider expires August 2025 Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training certificate expires November 2024. There is a working telephone and email address.
To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey will be sent to the email address provided. Please complete the survey and share Licensee or facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day / per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
