25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Leilani Curtis made an unannounced Annual Random inspection and met with Licensee, Maria Venegas. The Co-Licensee, Marco Venegas was present at LPA’s arrival and then left the premises. The Licensee’s daughter/helper Gloria Venegas was also present at the time of inspection. There was one 2.5-year-old child in care. Facility was observed operating within ratio and capacity. LPA conducted a tour of the home inside and outside per facility sketch. Licensee is using the following areas for daycare: living room, kitchen, bedroom #1 (master bedroom), bathroom #2 and enclosed front patio. Off-limits areas include: bedroom #2, bathroom #1 (located in the master bedroom), enclosed rear patio, laundry room and car port. Business Hours: Monday-Friday; 3:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Home is clean, orderly and has adequate ventilation. Children’s toys and play equipment are available and observed free of hazards. There are no stairs in the home. There is a working telephone/email address. All cleaning compounds, detergents, medications, and poisons are made inaccessible through latches, locks, and/or placed up on high surfaces. There is no fireplace. The fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide and smoke detector are operational. Licensee states there are NO firearms or other weapons in the home. Outdoor play area is fenced and free of hazardous items. There are no existing bodies of water present. Children records were reviewed for Emergency Information. There are no new adults living or working in the home over the age of 18 years. All adult residents and helpers have submitted or been cleared for criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Pediatric CPR and First-Aid certificates are valid through 01/2020 for Maria Venegas, 01/2020 for Marco Venegas and 03/2020 for Gloria Venegas. Immunization records per SB792 were reviewed and are in compliance. Applicant is exempt from Mandated Reporter AB1207 training certification due to applicant having limited English proficiency, applicant’s primary language is Spanish. |
