25 | On August 10, 2023 at 09:10 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Edgar Campana conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Co-licensees, Damaris Lopez and Maria Sanchez. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Co-licensee, Damaris Lopez. Ten (10) children were present in the facility during this inspection. Co-licensee Lopez accompanied LPA on a tour of the facility. This two story, 5 bedroom, 3 bath home was inspected. The following areas are used for childcare: living room, family room, playroom (downstairs bedroom), downstairs bathroom, dining area, kitchen, and backyard. Off limits areas include: entire upstairs (4 Bdrm/2 Bath), and garage. They are made inaccessible to day care children through the use of door locks and a safety gate at the bottom of the stairs.
The fire extinguisher (rated 2A-10 BC) smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detectors met requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The licensees have toys, play equipment and materials available. Fireplace was properly screened. Co-licensees' First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 09/28/2023. Co-licensees have required immunizations. Co-licensees' Mandated Reporter Training certificates expire on 04/07/2024. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted on June 14, 2023.
Co-licensees were reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
