Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Elise Read and Joelle Redding conducted an unannounced inspection with the Licensee. The home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. Present were the Licensee, assistant (Olivia Fleet) and 7 day care children. During today's visit, LPA updated the licensee's phone number. Licensee will update facility sketch with off limits areas and submit to the Department via email. The carbon monoxide detector (located in the hallway) and smoke detector (located in the playroom) meet requirements and are operational. The fire extinguisher (located in the kitchen) meets regulation and is operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. There are no bodies of water on the property. Licensee states that there are no weapons in the home.

A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. First Aid and CPR certification expire on 10/2020. Helper's First Aid and CPR certification expire on 10/2020. Mandated Reporter Training AB 1207 and immunizations per SB 792 for licensee and all assistants was discussed today. Licensee is reminded that the Mandated Reporter Training AB 1207 must be taken every two years and can be accessed at the following website: www.mandatedreporterca.com. Children’s records have up to date immunization records, and Notification of Parent’s Rights Receipts. Licensee maintains a current roster and is conducting emergency/disaster drills according to regulation. Last disaster drill was conducted on 04/16/2019.

Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. The licensee has sufficient toys and equipment available. Areas used for child care include living room, playroom, and bedroom and bathroom attached to the playroom. Off limits areas include kitchen, master bedroom, hallway bathroom, and three hallway bedrooms. These rooms are inaccessible through use of safety gates. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities.
