LPA, Luigi Gargaro, conducted an unannounced inspection with the licensee. The home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children per the standards established in CCR, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, for Family Child Care Homes. Present were the licensee, her cleared and associated assistants Rosalba Sanchez and Ariana Lopez and eleven day care children. The fire extinguisher and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. The licensee was asked whether she had any bodies of water or weapons in the home and she replied no. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all adults or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 01/30/21 for the licensee and 07/19/20 for helper Rosalba Sanchez. Children’s records were reviewed and were found to be in order.

Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Areas used for child care include day care activity area immediately off the kitchen, the adjacent day care/meal area, the family/tv room and the day care bathroom. Off limits areas include the kitchen, the living room, the garage and the second floor of the home. The kitchen is inaccessible through use of an installed, secured child safety gate found at its entrance, the living room is inaccessible with an installed child safety gate at one entrance and a barricade safety gate at the second and the garage entrance door and the upstairs of the home are made inaccessible as they are located behind the home living room and the safety gates found at the living room's entrance. The licensee has sufficient toys and equipment available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities. A side alley way is made off limits with a barricade child safety gate that is installed at its entrance way.
