25 | On 3/3/23 at 8:30am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Patrick Ma conducted an unannounced annual inspection with the Licensee. Upon arrival, LPA met with Licensee Jody Hom-Anderson. Also, in the home was helper Jorjelis Perez. Licensee was provided the Inspection Checklist (LIC 126). The 2 story home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. Present in the home were 8 day care children, 1 of whom was under 24 months.
Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Areas used for child care include entire downstairs area. Off limits areas include entire upstairs area and is inaccessible through use of child safety gate. During the visit, Licensee requested to add a second classroom on the east side of the home. Room was inspected and approved for use during inspection. The licensee has sufficient toys and equipment available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities. Licensee understands that supervision is required at all times during outdoor activities. LPA conducted child care quality management interview with the Licensee.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. There is no body of water on the property. Licensee stated, weapons are locked in the trailer inaccessible from children, firing pin is removed and ammunition is stored separately. First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 4/2023. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee completed Mandated Reporter Training on 5/27/22 and is reminded it must be completed every 2 years. Children’s and Staff records were reviewed and found to be in order.
Provider is hereby reminded of the following: Report suspected child abuse and neglect, maintain children’s records according to regulation, post all required forms; corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers are not allowed in day care.
