On November 1, 2023, at 9:15am., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Vicky Williamson conducted an unannounced annual required inspection. LPA met with Licensee, Laurissa Kammerer and disclosed the purpose of the inspection. There were three children present during the inspection, one of whom is licensee's own child. At 9:40am, another day care child arrived to the facility. Days and hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm.

This single level three bedroom and three bath home was toured and inspected. The following areas are used for childcare: day care room, bathroom (inside of day care room) and fenced front yard. The off-limit areas are the living room, kitchen, all three bedrooms, bathroom inside of master bathroom, hallway bathroom, side yard, backyard, and garage. The off-limit areas are inaccessible to children by doorknobs covers, locks and safety gates.

There is a separate entrance that the parents and children enter near the side gate. The licensee stated that she escorts and provides direct visual supervision to children when transitioning from the day care room to the front yard play area. There are bodies of water in the home. LPA observed a Jacuzzi on the premises that is locked and secured with latch and cover. LPA observed an above the ground swimming pool located on the premises that is inaccessible to children by a mesh fence that measures above five feet and has a self-latching gate that swings away from the pool, is self-closing and has a self-latching device. There is an approved waiver for the bodies of water that allows the licensee’s master bedroom window to have direct access to the bodies of water. The locks to the master bedroom do not have more than a four-inch opening. The master bedroom door is off limits by a locked door and a child proof gate. The children do not have access to the main house where the master bedroom is located. The licensee stated there are no firearms or weapons in the home. All cleaning compounds, medications, and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children during the inspection. There is a working fire extinguisher, a smoke detector, and a carbon monoxide detector. There is a working telephone in the home. The licensee has age-appropriate toys and play equipment available.
