25 | On March 3rd, 2020 at 7:45 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Jo Ann Legaspi conducted a Required - 1 Year Inspection and met with the Licensee Zetun Abdi. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Only the Licensee was present. No daycare children were present during the inspection. The daycare operational schedule is weekdays 6 AM to 11:30 PM. This facility is a two story, two bedroom, two bathroom townhouse. Licensee accompanied LPA on a tour of the facility. The following areas used for childcare: the living room, dining room and downstairs bathroom. The off limits areas are the top floor and kitchen, which are made inaccessible through the use of child safety gates.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. The last safety drill was 02/08/2020. Hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. Outdoor activities are conducted at a nearby park and fenced front yard. The Licensee acknowledged continuous, visual supervision is to be given to children whenever engaged in outdoor activities. The Licensee provides transportation for children. The Licensee acknowledged that whenever children are inside the provider’s vehicle, they shall be properly and safely restrained. Furthermore, the provider acknowledged that while children are inside the Licensee’s vehicle, they shall never be left unattended by Licensee and staff. Lastly, the Licensee confirmed they will uphold their vehicle’s regular maintenance to ensure its running safety. There is a gated pool in the complex, but the Licensee states she does not use this pool. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire in 08/2020. Three of four children’s records were reviewed and observed to contain immunization documentation and Notification of Parent’s Rights forms.
