25 | On 8/24/23 at 12:55 pm Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gerald Poindexter conducted an unannounced annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Licensees Fayhaa Jirjees and Qaya Gorgees. Licensee's adult daughter Rania Ablahad provided translation from Arabic. Licensee’s minor daughter was also present. There were no day care children present upon LPA arrival. Licensee states they typically arrive at approximately 2:30 pm. Licensee was provided the Inspection Checklist (LIC 126). The 4-bedroom, 2.5, two-story home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children.
Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Areas used for child care include living room, dining room, kitchen, bedrooms 1 & 2, bathroom, lower level playroom, and front patio (gated with latches on both sides). Off limits areas include bedroom 3 and 4, which are inaccessible through use of child gate and door knob cover. There are no stairs accessible inside the home. The licensees have sufficient toys and equipment available.
The home has a gated frontyard available for outdoor activities. Licensee understands that direct visual observation must be maintained at all times during outdoor play. No body of water was observed during time of inspection. There is a fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detector that meet requirements and are operational. There is no fireplace. Poisons, cleaning compounds, medications and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children via latches and locks and high shelf placement. Adequate heating and ventilation are provided. There is a working telephone/email address. Licensee stated there are NO firearms.
