25 | On 04/03/24 at 11:40AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Luigi Gargaro conducted an unannounced case management visit to the facility. The purpose of the visit was to deliver a lack of supervision citation to the licensee due to evidence discovered regarding the violation during a complaint previously filed against the day care.
In testimony analyst received during the investigation, it was determined that insufficient supervision is being provided to older day care children during outdoor play. Analyst found that when school age children are out in the secured front play yard, the licensee, and any assistant she is using, do not provide any, or very limited, direct supervision and instead primarily supervise them through cameras focused on the yard that are monitored by the licensee inside her home.
Due to this practice, it was learned that school age children are many times left indirectly supervised and have suffered various injuries and been involved in altercations that may have been prevented with appropriate in person stationed supervision. The lack of supervision has been determined to be an immediate risk to children in care and the licensee was cited a type A citation today for the violation on the attached 809D page.
Upon receipt of a type A violation, licensee shall post and provide copies of this licensing report to parents/guardians of children in care at the facility and to parents/guardians of children newly enrolled at the facility during the next 12 months.
An exit interview was conducted with the licensee. The licensee was provided a copy of their appeal rights (LIC 9058 12/15) and their signature on this form acknowledges receipt of these rights. Analyst printed a copy of the Notice Of Site Visit today and had licensee place it in her facility notice area before he left the home. |
