25 | On June 21, 2023 at 1:30 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) David Miller conducted an unannounced 1-year Inspection and met with the licensee Patricia Lopez. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted facility entry by the Licensee. The licensee and 8 children, two of which are school aged children were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a three (3) bedroom, one (1) bathroom one (1) story home. Licensee accompanied LPA during this inspection. Licensee is using the following areas for daycare: living room, entrance room, and bathroom. Off-limits areas include: kitchen, bedrooms 1, 2, and 3, which are made inaccessible via safety gates and safety locks. Business Hours: Monday-Friday; 7:00a.m.-5:00p.m.
The fire extinguisher and smoke/carbon monoxide detector met requirements. The licensee has available toys, play equipment and materials. Children play outside in the fenced backyard. Licensee was reminded that continuous supervision is to be given to children whenever engaged in outdoor activities. The facility has an in-ground pool. The pool is surrounded by a 5-foot fence. There is no water in the pool. The licensee stated that she will inform the agency if she ever fills the pool with water. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home and LPA did not observe any firearms at the time of this inspection.
Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire in 04/2025. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee completed the mandated reporter training on 06/08/2022. The facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 06/05/2023.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated |
