25 | On 02/28/20020, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samantha Salunga, made an unannounced inspection for the purpose of an annual/random inspection. Upon arrival LPA met with Licensee, Li Zhang, and proceeded to tour the facility. Also present was Licensee's husband, Dai Lu. During this inspection there were a total of three children in care. Appropriate ratios and capacity were observed along with supervision. The primary child care areas include: family room, living room, child play area, and down stairs bathroom. Off limits areas include the kitchen, garage, laundry room, and entire upstairs area. Outside play area is fenced. No body of water was observed during time inspection. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector. Fireplace is inaccessible to children. Poisons, cleaning compounds, medications and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Adequate heating and ventilation is provided. There is a working telephone. Licensee states there are no firearms and weapons in the home. Stairs are barricaded. Fire drills are conducted and documented with the last one being on 12/15/2019. Licensee maintains a current roster of the children. Pediatric CPR/First Aid are current with an expiration date of 02/03/2021. LPA verified that all adults living or working in the home have been fingerprint cleared and associated. Licensee maintains and updates all required records for children in care. Licensee maintains immunization records per SB792 and Mandated Reporter per AB1207.
LPA reviewed the following with Licensee: Safe Sleep Regulation Concept Handout, Car Seat Law, reporting requirements, regulation highlights, community resources, capacity limitations, supervision, clearances, emergency drills, mandated reporting, SIDS, and Shaken Baby Syndrome. Licensee is reminded that corporal punishment, smoking, walkers, exersaucers, jumpers and bouncy seats shall never be permitted during daycare operation. Licensee is aware that interference with a child’s daily functions, physical and mental abuse is not allowed. Licensee is reminded to make anything that reads, "Keep Out of Reach of Children" inaccessible to children. |
