25 | On September 30, 2022 at 09:25 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Edgar Campana conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensee, Lydia Flores. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Five (5) daycare children and one (1) adult resident were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a two story, four bedroom, 3 bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas are to be used for childcare: family room, daycare room (toy room) downstairs bathroom, and back yard. The off limit areas are the entire second floor, the living room, laundry room, garage and kitchen. The living room and the kitchen are made inaccessible through the use of safety gates. The laundry room and garage are made inaccessible through the use of door locks.
The fire extinguisher, type 3-A:40-B:C is operational and is located in the hallway. The smoke detector and carbon monoxide detectors met requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced back yard available for outdoor activities. Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 08/2024. Licensee has required immunizations. Mandated Reporter Training certificate expires on 07/27/2024. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 08/15/22. The provider physically checks on sleeping infants every 15 minutes.
LPA provided and discussed the following: Report suspected child abuse and neglect, maintain children’s records according to regulation, post all required forms, and ensure that all adults residing or working in the home have criminal background clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers and/or similar equipment are not allowed in daycare. |
