25 | On November 22, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Gloria Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Annual/Random Inspection and met with Licensee, Leticia Izaguirre-Wiles. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. There were ten (10) daycare children, one (1) staff member and Licensee's father as a helper were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a 1 story, 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: living room, dining room, kitchen, storage room, bathroom, bedroom #2, and backyard. Off limits areas are master bedroom as is made inaccessible by the use of a door knob cover. The kitchen and storage room is only used for a pass through to the backyard and are inaccessible through the use of a safety gate. Hours of operation are: Monday – Friday 6:00 am to 11:45 pm and Saturdays 6:00am – 6:00pm.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Not all hazardous items were made inaccessible to children during the inspection. LPA observed cleaning compounds in the storage room that is used as pass through to the backyard. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities at time of inspection. Licensee stated no bodies of water and LPA did not observe any bodies of water on the premises during the time of this inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certification expires on 7/2026. Licensee has required immunizations. |
