25 | On 06/16/2021, at 1:40 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Adrian Castellon conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with Licensee Araceli Gonzalez. LPA discussed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Five children were present in the facility during this inspection. The main child care area is the second floor daycare room. The entire first floor is off limits. Off limits areas have been made inaccessible with the use of door knob covers and safety gates. Licensee accompanied LPA Castellon inside and out of the facility during this inspection.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector meet requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The storage area for poisons is locked. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard and front yard available for outdoor activities. No bodies of water observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. Facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 11/2022. Licensee has required immunization's. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 06/2020. Licensee Cervantes states that she is not providing infant care. Children's records were reviewed.
LPA provided and discussed the following: Report suspected child abuse and neglect, maintain children’s records according to regulation, post all required forms, and ensure that all adults residing or working in the home have criminal background clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers and/or similar equipment are not allowed in daycare. Safe Sleep Regulations/SIDS, Lead exposure and Shaken Baby Syndrome was discussed. LPA and Licensee discussed California Megan's Law and LPA provided: www.meganslaw.ca.gov. |
