NARRATIVE
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25	On August 10, 2023 at 01:00 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Edgar Campana conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensee, Karina Rubio de Quiles. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Seven (7) day care children were present in the facility during this inspection, as well as one cleared and associated assistant. Licensee accompanied LPA on a tour of the facility. This two story, 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home was inspected. The following areas are used for childcare: living room, day care room (office), downstairs bathroom, dining area, kitchen, and back patio. Off limits areas include: entire upstairs (3 Bdrm/2 Bath), and garage. They are made inaccessible to day care children through the use of door locks and a safety gate at the bottom of the stairs. The fire extinguisher (rated 2A-10 BC) smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detectors met requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 06/2025. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee's Mandated Reporter Training certificate expires on 09/18/2023. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted on May 08, 2023. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

No deficiencies cited.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee Karina Rubio de Quiles.

During the exit interview, the licensee Karina Rubio de Quiles, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
