25 | On 06/30/2021, at 11:30 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Michelle Hood conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensee, Angelica Sarmiento. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Six (6) children and two (2) staff were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a two story, 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: play room 1 & 2, kitchen, living room, downstairs bathroom, and daycare children's area of the backyard. The off limits areas are garage, entire upstairs and area of the backyard outside of the daycare children's area. They are inaccessible through use of safety gates and latches. The living room fireplace is properly barricaded.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The storage area for poisons is locked. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. No bodies of water observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 02/2023. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee completed Mandated Reporter Training. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 11/2020; however, licensee will conduct a drill today. Licensee stated she does not have any children under the age of 12 months enrolled at this time. LPA and licensee discussed the Individual Infant Sleeping Plan [LIC 9227 (3/20)].
