25 | LPA Armando Locano completed an announced pre-licensing site inspection today. The purpose of the visit is to ensure the home is in compliance with standards established in CCR, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, for Family Child Care Homes. Met with applicants Alma Contreras & Soledad Barrera, we discussed the pre-licensing packet of materials. Information discussed included: resource programs, child care general health and safety standards, capacity, child abuse reporting responsibilities, SIDS and shaken baby information, required forms and record keeping requirements. SIDS and Shaken Baby hand outs were provided during the visit. Applicant understands that physical discipline/corporal punishment shall never be permitted in the child care operation. There is an appropriate Type II 10 ABC fire extinguisher and working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms maintained in the home. The home was toured and there are sufficient age appropriate toys and equipment available in the home for children’s use. Toxic items and cleaning supplies have been made inaccessible to children. Applicant has completed the required pediatric CPR, First Aid, 8-hour preventive health courses and mandated reporter training. There are no weapons or bodies of water on the premises. This is a 4 bedroom, 3 bath two story detached home. Areas which may be used for childcare are: kitchen, breakfast nook, dining room, living room, family room, downstairs hall bathroom, and large fully fenced back yard for outdoor activities. Off-limit areas are; four upstairs bedrooms, two upstairs bathroom, garage and storage areas, which are to remain inaccessible during childcare hours.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA and Licensee discussed California Megan's Law and LPA provided: www.meganslaw.ca.gov. website to licensee. LPA discussed new LEAD information regarding effects of lead exposure and new Provider Information Notice (PIN) Regarding new proposed SIDS Regulations and provided copies of Lead hand out and PIN.
Per new Senate Bill 792 pertaining to immunizations, which require all adults in daycare operation to have proof of immunizations for; Measles, Pertussis or Whooping Cough and Influenza or Flu, applicants have provided current verification of required immunizations and facility is in full compliance.
No corrections are needed, small license is issued effective today October 29, 2019. |
