25 | On December 18, 2023, at 8:50am., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Vicky Williamson conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPA met with Licensee, Crystal Evans and disclosed the purpose of the inspection. There were no daycare children present during the time of inspection. Licensee stated that she has not provided care since obtaining her license. Days and hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 6:00pm.
This is a one story, four bedroom, and two bath home. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and outside of the facility during the inspection. The following areas are used for child care: living room, kitchen, dining room, bedrooms #1 (daycare room) and bathroom #1 (inside daycare room), bedroom #2 and backyard. Off limits areas are bedroom #3, bathroom #2 (hallway), laundry room and storage room (located on the back of home). The off-limit areas are inaccessible through use of a safety locks and doorknob covers. Licensee updated the facility sketch during the time of inspection making bedroom #2 accessible to daycare children.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector meet requirements. All cleaning compounds, medications, and other hazardous items were inaccessible to children during the inspection. Licensee has a working cell phone in the home. The licensee has age-appropriate toys and play equipment available. Licensee stated that there are no bodies of water on the premises. LPA observed no bodies of water during the time of inspection. Licensee stated there are no firearms or weapons in the home.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
