25 | On June 29, 2023 at 2:55 PM , Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Edgar Campana conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensees, Sherrie Johnson and Ceji Johnson. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by Licensees. Fourteen (14) children were present in the facility during this inspection as well as two cleared and associated assistants . The home is two stories with three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms and a two-car garage. The following areas will be used for child care: First floor with the exception of the garage, and the front patio. Bedroom 3 will be used for overnight care only. Off limit areas include: the master bedroom and bathroom, bedroom 2 and the garage. These areas have been made inaccessible with the use of door locks, door knob covers and/or latches. The stairs and fireplace have been made inaccessible.
The fire extinguisher (rated 3A-40 BC) smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detectors met requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The licensees have toys, play equipment and materials available. Licensees' First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 04/2025. Licensees have required immunizations. Licensees' Mandated Reporter Training certificates expire on 05/2024. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted on May 1, 2023.
Licensees were reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
