On 10/15/2020 LPA Dana Stevens met with applicant Rose Ertha Dorvilus, for the purpose of verifying the corrections requested in initial Pre-licensing visit conducted on 10/05/20 have been completed. LPA Stevens met with Licensee via the ZOOM application per CDPH COVID 19 Guidelines.

The following corrections are needed prior to the issuance of the license:
  • In-ground pool needs to made inaccessible by a pool cover or surrounding the pool with a fence that meets Title 22 regulations for Family Child Care Homes.

LPA toured (via ZOOM) the entire perimeter of the pool fencing and observed that it is mesh fencing that completely encloses the pool. LPA observed the licensee measure the fencing height with a measuring tape and it measured approximately 5 feet high. LPA observed that the gate opens away from the pool and is self-closing and self-latching. LPA observed the licensee open the gate and allow the gate to self-close and self-latch several times. LPA observed the licensee measure that the gate self-latching device is located less than 6 inched from the top of the gate. LPA observed the licensee measure the openings between railings and LPA observed that the openings did not exceed 4 inches. LPA observed licensee measure the space between bottom of fencing and ground and LPA observed that the space measured less than 4 inches from the ground which is a hard surface (cement). LPA observed that fencing does not obstruct the pool from view and is not easily climbable by children. LPA observed the licensee pressing firmly upon the fencing and railings which did not bend. LPA observed that there is a key operated lock located at the top of the gate.
Licensee agrees to keep gate unlocked when daycare children are present. Licensee agrees the fencing will remain in place whenever licensed care is provided and so long as the mesh fencing makes the swimming pool inaccessible to children as determined by licensing staff.

All corrections requested have been completed. A Regular Large Family Child Care Home license maybe issued upon final file review. An exit interview was conducted and a copy of the report and appeal rights (LIC 9058) were provided by email to the applicant. Applicant understands that an email acknowledgment of receipt of report and appeal rights must be received within 24 hours
