25 | On March 3, 2021, at 8:30 AM, Licensing Program Analyst's (LPA's) Gloria Gonzalez and Claudia Amador conducted a case management inspection for the purpose of an increase in capacity via video conference by Face Time, due to the Covid-19 outbreak with Licensee Karla Diaz. LPA's conducted a live video tour of the inside and outside of the facility. Four (4) children and one (2) staff were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a one story, 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house. The following areas used for childcare are: kitchen, dining room, bathroom #1 , daycare room (living room), and backyard. Off limits areas are bedrooms #1, #2, #3, garage, bathroom # 2 and are inaccessible through use of door knob covers. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Sunday from 3:00am to 12:00 am.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available for children’s use. The home has a backyard available for outdoor activities and Licensee states it is fully fenced. Licensee stated there are no bodies of water on the premises. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearance. Licensee has required immunization's. Licensee and assistant completed the Mandated Reporter Training AB 1207 on 7/13/20. 2 of 4 children’s records were reviewed. First Aid and CPR certifications for Licensee expire on 4/2021.
The fire clearance for 14 children was granted/received on 3/2/21. LPA's provided and discussed the following: Report suspected child abuse and neglect, maintain children’s records according to regulation, post all required forms, and ensure that all adults residing or working in the home have criminal background clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers and/or similar equipment are not allowed in daycare. Licensee was also provided handouts with information regarding upcoming Safe Sleep Regulations/SIDS, Lead exposure and Shaken Baby Syndrome.
