25 | On 05/19/2021 at 1:00 p.m, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Michelle Hood conducted an announced video-conference inspection via WhatsApp, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, with applicant. The purpose of the inspection is to ensure that the home is in compliance with standards established in CCR, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, for Family Child Care Homes. This 3-bedroom, 2-bath home was toured and inspected to ensure the environment is safe for the care and supervision of children.
On 05/05/2021, a fire clearance was approved for 14 children. The applicant provided proof of control of property for review by the Department. The applicant will use the following areas for childcare: living/tv (daycare) room, dining room, bathroom #1, and backyard. Off-limits areas include bedroom #1, bedroom #2, master bedroom, master bathroom, garage, and kitchen. They are made inaccessible to daycare children through the use of doorknob covers, safety gates, and cabinet latches. Fireplace is screened and barricaded. There are no bodies of water observed during time of inspection. The fire extinguisher is rated 3A 40B: C, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors meet requirements and are operational. All poisons, cleaners, and hazardous items in the home are inaccessible to children through latches, locks, and/or placed up on high surfaces.
Children’s toys and play equipment are available. The applicant stated there are NO firearms or other weapons in the home. Applicant has completed the 8 hours of Preventative Health and Lead. Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications expire on 08/2022. Applicant completed Mandated Reporter AB1207 training. Required documents are posted. Applicant and all adults have been cleared for criminal record and child abuse index clearances. Applicant was advised that any new/additional adults must be cleared before working or residing in the home. Any minor upon his/her 18th birthday must be fingerprinted within 30 days. Immunization records per SB792 were reviewed and are in compliance for applicant. Per applicant operating hours are Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Advised applicant no changes should be made to the home without prior notice and/or approval from Licensing. Applicant stated they are financially secure to operate a family childcare home for children and will comply with all regulations and laws governing family childcare homes.
