25 | On October 13, 2021 at 2:20 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Marie Hernandez conducted an unannounced case management Inspection due to an increase of capacity. LPA met with the Licensee Sinan Akrawi. On 09/09/2021, the Licensee submitted a request for a large family child care and on 09/22/2021, the fire clearance was approved by the San Miguel Fire & Rescue Fire Marshal. The purpose of the inspection is to ensure the home is incompliance with standards established in CCR, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, for Family Child Care Homes. This is a one story four bedroom and two bath home. The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 12:00 AM to 11:30 PM. LPA toured and inspected the home. The following areas will be used for childcare: The kitchen, dining room, living room, family room, bedrooms #1, #2, #3, hallway bathroom and the backyard. The off-limit areas are the Master bedroom #4 and the garage. The off limit areas are inaccessible to children through the use of a child proof doorknobs. The Licensee was advised that when the children are outside, full supervision must be at all times. There are bodies of water in the home (Jacuzzi). The Jacuzzi is secured and locked, inaccessible to children. The fire extinguisher meets the requirement. The required smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector are operational. All poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds and medicines are secured, inaccessible and out of reach of children. Age appropriate toys and play equipment are available. A working telephone is available. The Licensee indicated that there are no weapons in the home. The Licensee's Mandated Reporter AB1207 online training expires on 05/10/2023. The Licensee has completed the 8 hours of preventative health certification. The pediatric CPR and First Aid certification expires 05/2023. The required documents are posted. The Licensee and the adult residents have the criminal record clearances on file. The Licensee was advised that any new/additional adults must be cleared prior to working or residing in the home. Any minor upon their 18th birthday must be fingerprinted within 30 days. LPA advised that prior to making alterations or additions to the home or grounds, the Licensee shall notify the Department of the proposed changes. Effective today, 10/13/2021, the Licensee is approved for a large family child home for no more than fourteen children at any given time. LPA discussed and provided the ratio and capacity visual handout for a large family child care. The Licensee was advised that when there is no qualified assistant present, the capacity reverts back to the requirements for a small family child care home. The Licensee was also provided the ratio/capacity visual handout for a small family child care home. The Licensee stated it is understood and he will comply with the requirements and regulations at all times. LPA Marie Hernandez explained the case management inspection report, and the Licensee stated it was understood. A copy of the report and the notice of site visit was provided to the Licensee. The notice must be posted for thirty days. |
